Dow Jones Sustainability Indices

For the ninth consecutive year, Castellum is included as the only Nordic real estate company in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI). DJSI is based on assessments and ESG ratings from S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (S&P CSA), where Castellum receives top ratings. S&P CSA is a prestigious sustainability assessment and one of the world's most comprehensive databases of listed companies' sustainability efforts and sustainability performance. Only four Swedish companies are included in S&P CSA, where 13,000 listed companies globally were invited in 2025 and only the best in each industry qualify for inclusion in the index. The purpose of the index is to guide investors towards more sustainable investments.

EPRA sBPR Awards  

Each year, the European Public Real Estate Association (EPRA), through the Sustainability Best Practices Recommendations Awards (sBPR Awards), selects the companies that will receive the gold, silver or bronze award for best sustainability reporting. Castellum retains EPRA Gold, which is proof that Castellum not only keeps its promises in sustainability but also that the company is clear and transparent in its communication on sustainability.

Castellum reports to the CDP and has a rating of A- on a scale of A to D–. The CDP is an independent non-profit organisation with the world’s largest collection of information on companies’ climate impacts.

The Sustainability Yearbook

Castellum is ranked number one in Europe and 14th globally in The Sustainability Yearbook 2026 in the category of real estate management and development. The Sustainability Yearbook is produced by S&P Global, a world leader in credit ratings, benchmarks and analytics across the global capital and commodity markets. A total of 9,200 companies across 59 industries were assessed.

In 2018, Castellum was the first property company in the Nordic region to have its climate target approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). In 2025, Castellum will be the first company in Europe to have its climate targets approved by SBTi's new framework for buildings. The company's climate targets are scientifically accurate and set in line with the Paris Agreement's goal of reducing global warming.
